Reiki
“Rei” means universal and “ki” means vital life force energy. Reiki, discovered by Mikao Usui in 1922, is a Japanese technique that uses hands-on and/or slightly hovering hands-off positions to channel this energy through a practitioner’s hands into a recipient’s energy field and body.
According to Brigham and Women’s Hospital Reiki Program, which has provided over 40,000 Reiki sessions, Reiki promotes relaxation, relieves stress and anxiety, reduces pain and fatigue, and improves overall quality of life.
